Pieceful ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of your information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have with respect to that data when you use the Pieceful platform.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account and use the Service:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash)
• Business information: Business name, type, state of operation, entity structure, and estimated valuation
• Equity plan data: Stakeholder names, email addresses, job titles, equity percentages, and vesting schedules
• Usage data: Actions performed within the platform, such as adding stakeholders, running exit scenarios, and viewing dashboards

We do not collect payment information. The Service is currently free to use and does not process any financial transactions.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
• Authenticate your identity when you log in
• Associate stakeholders with their equity dashboards when they create accounts
• Maintain an audit log of equity plan changes for your records
• Improve and develop new features for the Service
• Communicate service updates or changes to our policies
• Respond to support requests or inquiries you send us

We do not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon, a serverless database platform. The platform is deployed via Vercel. Both providers maintain industry-standard security practices and compliance certifications.

We implement technical safeguards to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS/SSL), hashed password storage, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and associated business information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes.

6. Stakeholder Information

Business owners may add team members ("stakeholders") to the platform by entering their name, email address, role, and equity details. This information is stored and associated with the business account. Stakeholders may claim their account by signing up with the same email address, at which point they can view their own equity dashboard.

By entering a team member's information, you represent that you have appropriate authorization to do so and that the team member has been informed that their equity information will be managed using this platform.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format upon request
• Object to certain processing of your data

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar session tokens solely for authentication purposes — specifically to keep you logged in between visits. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. Your session token is stored securely and expires when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
